About Fitness For Hope
Fitness For Hope is intended to inspire hope and support those who are struggling, as well as remember those that we have lost to suicide.
Fitness For Hope came to be in August 2023. I lost my big brother, Justin Wall, to suicide August 28, 2012. I had hosted past donation based spin classes at Define in Oakley to raise money for AFSP, and had set plans to do it again that September. A few weeks prior, I had a thought – I wonder if other fitness studios/gyms would be willing to host donation based classes as well?
Thanks to amazing, supportive studios and gyms around Cincy, NKY, and Dayton, in a few weeks, we were able to pull together 32 studios, 500+ participants and raise more than $11,000 for AFSP and it grew even more in 2024, to 7 different regions in Ohio and Kentucky!
I cannot wait to see Fitness For Hope continue to grow, and am beyond thankful for the wings that the fitness studios, gyms and participants gave my idea. My hope is that those we’ve lost to suicide will never be forgotten, and those who are struggling will find hope, inspiration, and a reminder that they matter.
Forever in my heart, Justin. My big brother, my guardian angel, my free bird 💙
